As part of my trek out into the UAE desert, I got the chance to enjoy a traditional Arabian-style camp (
and dinner) before making my way back to the modern comforts of Dubai.
At first I thought it was going to be cheesy (like the dinner cruise the night before), but after the scrumptious food, highly technical dancing performances, and meeting a pretty cool falcon, I decided the experience was anything but.
I highly recommend taking the trip out to the desert from the city if you get the chance. It's a good reminder of how most of us used to live - and some of us still do.
P.S. - This post is also a chance to try something new on the blog. For those of you who enjoy videos, I have included that first below. If you prefer pictures, those come right after the video. If you enjoy both, even better! Feel free to share and use both however you would like. But most important of all, I hope you enjoy!

Not exactly traditional, but a cold beer at the end of the day is never a bad touch. |
