The other evening, I grabbed my camera and went for a stroll along Jeddah's Middle Corniche - the result was the pictures below.
But first, some background info...
The Middle Corniche is the 3.6 km stretch of the larger
Jeddah Corniche, a 30 km-long coastal resort area along the Red Sea. The Corniche, which is French/Italian for a coastal road, includes recreation areas, pavilions, sculptures,
and the tallest fountain in the world - King Fahd's Fountain.
The
Middle Corniche is currently being renovated to include new open spaces, landscaping, restaurants, and retail, recreation, and pedestrian facilities. By combining those with well-managed traffic and parking, including a public transportation hub, the city hopes to develop the Middle Corniche into a world-class destination.
Okay, now time for pictures.

Lots of space for picnicking and playing. |

It's kind of a long walk in the heat. |

One of the many kiosks along the Middle Corniche. |

Some palace. Idk. |

More walking... |
|
Industrial zone and port in the distance. |

Looking back at what I've covered so far... |
|
A nice sitting area. |

Another kiosk... |

Reached the northern end and turned around. That's Al Anani Mosque back there. |
